CSTO,
the Collective Security Treaty Organization of several former Sovjet states. The
CSTO is a security grouping comprising the former Soviet republics of Armenia, Belarus,
Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. Despite the recent
deterioration of relations with NATO, Russia continues to support the military alliance's
operations in Afghanistan, and has said it shares NATO's concerns over the worsening

US ARPANET (ARPA Network) was the
first operational packet switching computer
network, the forerunner of the Internet. Founded in the late years '60
by the Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) of

Russian Navy. The
first Imperial Russian Navy was established by Tsar Peter the
Great (Peter I) at the end of 17the century, with Dutch know-how. The recent Russian
flag was first introduced by Peter the Great, with the same Dutch colors, but in other
order. This Tsar came to the Netherlands to learn how to build a better warship and
practiced shipbuilding there himself. His comment was that the Dutchmen made ships without
more detailed construction designs. His own Russian fleet made Peter great. Right you see

Navy is the naval arm of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
The present Russian Navy succeeding the Soviet Navy following the dissolution of the
Soviet Union at the end of the Cold War in 1991. The Russian Navy possesses the vast
majority of the former Soviet Naval
Forces of the USSR, and
currently comprises the Northern Fleet, the Russian Pacific Fleet, the Russian Black Sea
Fleet, the Russian Baltic Fleet, the Russian Caspian Flotilla, Naval Aviation, and the
Coastal Troops (consisting of the Naval Infantry and Coastal Artillery).
People's Republic of Red China Navy
or People's Liberation Army Navy is the naval branch of the People's Liberation Army,
the armed forces of the People's
Republic of China. This Chinese Navy is now the second largest naval service in the
world, only behind the United States Navy and outflanked even the Russian sea power. The
Chinese fleet also has nuclear powered submarines, missiles, cruise-flight weapons and
satellites for reconnaissance.

Republic of China Navy
(Taiwan), not to be confused with the People's Liberation Army Navy, is the maritime
branch of the Armed forces of the Republic of China (Taiwan). This Navy's primary
mission is to defend Taiwan territories and the sea lanes that surround Taiwan against a
blockade, attack, or possible invasion by forces of the People's Republic of China. It's
an high-tech fleet with many sorts of warships and also equipped with several Dutch or
American made submarines. Taiwan was never a possesion of Red China, who claims now this
territory.

CIS,
the Commonwealth of Independent States is a regional organization, whose
participating countries are former Soviet Republics. The Belavezha Accords (1991), was a
agreement which declared the Soviet Union effectively dissolved and established the
Commonwealth of Independent States in its place. Right you see the new blue CIS flag
