Palace Graphical Chat
There are two different ways to meet people in the 'Palace Graphical Chat' environment. That is via the Instant Palace (without games and jukebox and only as guest) or via the Palace Client (with games and more music and as a member for all palaces).

Go now to John N's Instant Palace with pictures, midi music and text based chat on the WWW, if you are new to this. You can only talk to people who are in the same room!
Software for the Palace
For the full 'Palace Graphical Chat' environment, you must download and install first the computer program named 'Palace Client' on your computer.
Click on Palacetools.com to download the Palace Client for Windows, MacIntosh or Linux.
Also for Palace Clients, Palace Servers and manuals Practice Palace.
Registration codes for clients and servers at thePalace.com. Client Registration Code is used to visit Palaces. Server Registration Code is only needed if you run your own Palace
If you have the Palace Client installed, then you can go to John N's Palace or another of the several thousands of palaces worldwide. Enjoy this magic world together with other people you like.
If you own a Palace yourself, then you can be listed in Palacetools Live Directory

TTS Engines for the English, Dutch, French, German and other languages,
with character animations for Merlin, Peedy, Robby, Genie and others,
only if you have a Microsoft 4+ webbrowser.
using Microsoft Agent technology.
Download first the Text-To-Speak plugin
for the Palace Client from
Havendam Software or
Speech Synthesis for
Palace Chatrooms
and then select your language TTS engine
via downloads from
Microsoft
Agent or MASH
You can hear all the texts in english or in your mother's language.
The Client on Havendam is an older version,
download the Client elsewhere.
NB. This only works for the Microsoft Window's Palace Client!

Midi music for all Palace Clients
You can hear on all Palaces the midi songs placed in a
new folder ../Palace/Media/Sounds
by simple saying ")song.mid" (without the quotes),
where song.mid is a midi file in this folder.
You can only hear the midis via the Palace Clients where
they are placed first.
Download now the file Midis.zip
(283 KB) and unzip it
in your own Palace Client folder ../Palace/Media/Sounds.
NB. This only works for the Palace Client!
Phoenix Radio for all Palaces
If you are a Palace owner go to the link page of Phoenix Radio
for the scripts to listen to this radio in your Palace.
All visitors can listen to the music of this Radio.
It works excellent in Client and Instant Palaces.

Webspeak - Make your webpages talk
WebSpeak will give your web page life and make it much more fun. When someone visits your web page, a Microsoft Agent character pops out and starts talking. You can program the character to speak, or select an animation from many animations. WebSpeak is extra easy to use and no programming or coding knowledge necessary. WebSpeak will create the code for you.

It still works for newer versions, but I propose:

A domain name for your Palace
You can replace your IP nummer by a domain name.
As an exemple, my palace had an address with IP number: palace://213.46.18.20:9998
and also an address with domain name: palace://john-n.mine.nu:9998
You can also get a free domain name like 'your-name.mine.nu',
go to: http://www.dyndns.org
